Heinz Orchard is a small family owned orchard located in Chicago's Northern suburbs. It is especially important to check the site for crop availability, and reference their shorter than typical seasonal hours. Please be aware that as a small, family-run orchard they DO NOT offer hayrides, food/drink, corn mazes, etc. Instead, you'll enter a small quiet orchard that welcomes your family to pick in a beautiful setting.

Besides picking peaches, pears, and apples, guests can also stroll the picturesque rolling hills of the orchards and explore a breathtaking forest of 150-year-old oak trees! Farm park admission includes access to the Kids Korral Play Area including: Cool Cow Maze, Little Red Straw Barn, Corn Palace Corn Box, Corn Maze, Straw Mountain, Amish Built Train, Rainbow Play Structure, and more.

Shila:  For 76 seasons Old Homestead Orchard has been a U-Pick Apple Orchard offering many varieties for your family's fresh picking fun. With grain sandboxes, ride-on toys, repurposed farm equipment climbers, and a poultry zoo they are a complete outdoor destination for all. Pack a lunch for a picnic at provided tables or pick up fresh brats topped with Chow Chow. Don't forget to stop at the Orchard Store for handmade, Wisconsin fare.

Homestead Orchard has over 20 different varieties of apples. They also have pears and honey made from their own hives, along with an 1880's horse barn filled with antiques and homemade treats.

This farm lacks the tourist attractions of many other fall farm destinations, but is the perfect place if you're just looking for u-pick apples or a great selection of pumpkins in a patch. They also have a bakery, and in the fall it offers a variety of apple-flavored treats.

Shila:  At Appleland Orchards, they require pre-purchase of the bag(s) inside the market. U-Pick apple bags are sold in three sizes (half bushel, peck or half peck quantities). You can mix and match apple varieties. They list U-Pick varieties available for picking on-line and in the market. They have signs posted by each row denoting the variety for ease of picking.

Royal Oak Farm Orchard is a 120-acre U-Pick apple orchard. They also grow pumpkins, gourds, and squash. And they have the country's first apple tree maze, Amaze 'N Apples, where you can wander through 1.5 miles of trails with 9 varieties of apples.

Shila:  The Elegant Farmer hosts an Autumn Harvest Festival throughout the fall where families are welcome to pick apples or choose the perfect pumpkin from the patch. There are tractor-pulled hayrides, pony and train rides, a corn maze and specialty foods.

Shila:  Rim's Edge Orchard has over 20 varieties of apples for you to come out and pick! They also stock local Wisconsin maple syrup, local honey from resident honey bees, fresh apple cider, and caramel apples.

Basse's boasts dozens of fun fall activities for the whole family. From hayrides to their pick-your-own pumpkins and apples, there's much to do for all ages. This farm also features an enormous 8 acre corn maze, as well as decorations for fall.

Shila:  Family owned and operated organic apple orchard that grows and sells over 17 different varieties of apples throughout the season. At the farm, they press their own fresh cider and make many other apple products. You are invited to pick your own fruit most weekends and tour the orchard.

Apple Barn is a scenic orchard located just North of Lake Geneva. They offer u-pick apples, pumpkins and strawberries. As an added bonus for parents, Apple Barn has fruit wines to sample and buy!

The Apple Hut is a family-owned farm that offers 21 varieties of apples to pick. They also have an extensive gift shop with apple pies, caramel apples, cider donuts, pumpkin bread, apple cinnamon bread, apple cider, jams, honey, & more.
