Allen Community Ice Rink
Lisa R: This Ice Rink run by the City of Allen, offers all the basics: figure skating lessons, hockey leagues, public skate times, and freestyle sessions. Open skate sessions are typically offered in 2 hour blocks, with birthday party packages available.
StarCenters
Lisa R: These high quality rinks throughout Dallas offer freestyle sessions, team sports, specialized classes, and public skating. Special "bucket zones" are reserved for beginners during select public hours and events and beginners are also invited to try out hockey and figure skating for free (all equipment included) on select dates. Group rates and birthday party packages also available.
Frisco Square - Skate the Square
Stephanie W.: Skate a rare outdoor rink in DFW! Frisco has its very own real outdoor ice skating rink on the corner of Main and Coleman. Skates available for rent.
Galleria Ice Skating Center
Lisa R: You can't beat the convenience of this rink inside the Galleria Mall. Although it's hosted Olympians such as Kristi Yamaguchi and Dorthy Hamill, during an average public session you'll mostly find beginners burning off energy. The rink offers a variety of classes, ranging from a 15 min intro during public hours to regular classes. Advanced skaters can attend freestyle sessions or join synchronized skating teams.
Farmers Branch - Skating Under the STARS
christadiserio: This outdoor ice skating is part of Christmas in the Branch, a month long holiday event where guests can explore Santa’s Village, shop the holiday Marketplace, ice skate under the stars, and more!
NYTEX Sports
Lisa R: Programs at this multi-faceted sports center are mostly geared towards kids that want to compete and perform, although public skating is offered as well midday, and on Friday nights with music. The center offers introductory to advanced figure skating and hockey teams, with special programs like the Competitor's Club, performance opportunities, and travel leagues for kids that want to step up their game.
Ice at the Parks
Lisa R: This Arlington Rink is regulation NHL size and hosts classes, hockey leagues, public skate times, and parties (check out the carousel!). Families can watch or participate in annual figure skating shows and regular competitions. Themed costume nights are typically scheduled the last Friday of the month and Broomball can be a fun teen activity.
Panther Island Ice
Stephanie W.: Fort Worth's outdoor skating rink, Panther Island Ice is a must this winter for you and your family! Located in the Coyote Drive-In complex, they offer a full menu from the Coyote Canteen. They are open seven days a week for the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons (and are open on all holidays!).
