Tons of parking makes the entire complex accessible and enjoyable for kids and parents.
Downey Swimming Pool and Splash Pad
Erynn: A seasonal pool plus splash pad accommodates all ages at Downey. While there's not much in the way of natural shade, umbrellas are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Plus, the splash pad doubles as a wading pool with shallow entry, ideal for little ones. Other programs include synchronized swimming, junior lifeguard training, and swim lessons.
Griffith Park Pool
Erynn: Griffith Park Pool neighbors a kids' playground and a recreation center, meaning there's plenty to do for the whole family (along with plenty of parking). The Sunnynook River Park is also nearby if your family has a hankering for a hike or bike ride along the LA River.
LA84 Foundation/John C. Argue Swim Stadium
Erynn: Along with a competition pool, this Swim Stadium also has a community pool that's family-friendly and open year round. Sign kids up for life guard camp or swim lessons, or just drop in to cool off throughout the season. Shallow entry and kid-friendly water features are major pluses!
Hollywood Pool
Erynn: For kids, the highlight of Hollywood Pool is their huge waterpark-esq slide! Meanwhile, parents will appreciate the presence of multiple lifeguards, including one who supervises the water slide at all times. Swimming lessons are also available here. A summer youth pass is only $10!
Hey Rookie Pool
Erynn: The amazing ocean views are a highlight at Hey Rookie Pool, and it's one of the newer pools in the LA area. Plenty of square footage to frolic in means both parents and kids can enjoy. Swim lessons are also available, as well as novice synchronized swimming - a unique sport for kids to stay fit!
Van Nuys Sherman Oaks Pool
Erynn: This year-round outdoor heated pool hosts swimming lessons and watersports, and a nearby playground adds to the summer fun. Ample parking makes visiting easy any time of day.
Westchester Pool
Erynn: Come for a refreshing swim, stay for everything else happening in the area! Tons of parking at Westchester Pool also serves the Westchester Farmer's Market. Plus, there's the Westchester Skate Plaza on the other side of the park, along with sports courts and a playground.
Santa Clarita Aquatics Center
Gina I.: Whether the kids want to swim laps, enjoy a thrilling ride down a 160 foot water slide, take swim lessons (including "the world's largest swim lesson"), or just splash in the shallow end, Santa Clarita Aquatics Center has something for everyone! The aquatic center also features spacious changing rooms with lockers, a concession stand, and lots of deck chairs. A limited number of approved life jackets are also available for use.
Stoner Park Pool
Erynn: Along with water sprayer features and shallow pools with beach-like entrances, Stoner Park Pool also has an epic waterslide. Kids will be thrilled by the ride, but parents will appreciate that the slide ends in a small pool where it's easy to spot kiddos. There's also a skate park nearby that adds to the recreation opportunities.
Santa Monica Swim Center
Erynn: Two separate heated pools (one for splashing and one for fitness) accommodate families with kids of all ages. There are family restrooms plus separate locker facilities. The kids' splash pool reaches a maximum depth of 4.5 feet, ideal for beginning swimmers.
Northridge Park Aquatic Center
Erynn: Northridge features a lap pool, children's shallow pool and splash pad, and one swirly water slide. Kids can also enroll in swim lessons or springboard, swim or synchronized swim teams. Tons of off-street parking and a neighboring playground add to Northridge's features.
Annenberg Community Beach House
Erynn: Annenberg Community Beach House at Santa Monica State Beach is a unique fixture, inviting families to enjoy amazing views, a pool, playground, beach courts, and more! Parents will appreciate free Wi-Fi, and kids will love the splash pad and a dip in the historic pool.
Rancho Simi Community Pool
Erynn: Rancho Simi's pool is heated and open year-round, but summer family swim begins in June. Its open location means there's plenty of space to relax on the lawn rather than on concrete, plus lots of space for umbrellas and shade structures. Swim lessons are available, too.
