4 Hands-On Kids Cooking Classes Around Miami

Kristy Pepping:  The Real Food Academy offers cooking classes for kids. They only use natural ingredients that are of course also healthy. Kids will make meals that they recognize from home, but The Real Food Academy tweaks these kid-friendly dishes by making them even more nutritious. Their goal is to add "these secret ingredients," have kids try these versions and actually discover that they like the healthier versions better. Some of the weekly themes include Little Chefs and Summer Delights. The Real Food Academy also hosts kids birthday parties and mommy and me classes.

Kristy Pepping:  Taste Buds Kitchen offers fun cooking classes that use unique and fresh ingredients. They offer one-time kids classes as well as semester-long classes. For the younger kids, there are parent and me classes offered as well. Examples of workshops include baking desserts like cupcakes and creating homemade poptarts. An example of one of their semester-long classes includes "culinary road trip" featuring foods from different states.

Kristy Pepping:  Williams Sonoma may offer baking dishes and other kitchen utensils, but it is also a great place for your kids to take some cooking classes. Their classes geared toward kids are called Junior Chef classes. Each class offers a theme like waffle making where kids will learn how to make one or two dishes. Kristy Pepping:  Sweet Life Cake and Candy Supply was started by two former stay-at-home-moms who started baking on the side. They found it hard to find the baking supplies they needed in the Miami area so they started this supply store. Besides products, they offer baking classes for kids and adults. Examples of classes include making cake pops, sugar cookies and chocolate-covered Oreos. All materials are supplied and kids are asked to bring a water and a snack for class.
