13 Hands-On Kids Cooking Classes Around Chicago

Yoli B:  Whole Foods offers a variety of kid cooking classes several times a month. The classes focus on healthy food options and items that the kids can make from scratch. It is never to early to pick up cooking skills! There are many Whole Foods throughout Chicago, be sure to check out your local store's event calendar for more information!

Shila:  Kids' Kitchen of Eataly offers you and the little bambini the chance to cook like an Italian! These one time classes teach about traditional Italian cooking and culture. Learn to make home-made pasta, meatballs from scratch, chocolate desserts, and more!

Shila:  Sur La Table is known for their high end kitchen goods, knowledgeable staff, and their in-store cooking classes! They have several class options for your family. They offer family classes which are designed for children and adults to cook and learn together. Then there are kids and teen classes where kids will lean valuable kitchen skills.

Agreatmom2!:  They have virtual classes now but also can start a program at your school. They have two types of class themes. One for food and the other food science. You can drop in to classes or make a commitment over several weeks. Definitely a must do for the chef or scientist in your home.

Lisa R:  This high-end home goods store hosts a number of cooking classes for kids and adults. Kids 8-13 years love their Junior Chef classes, which are typically offered at least once a month at most Williams Sonoma locations. Each class teaches kids a new recipe and are often themed to go with upcoming holidays. Kelly R:  This kid-focused community cooking school hosts a variety of engaging classes (including after school care options), plus camps and parties.

Kelly R:  This cake and cupcake decorating studio offers group classes and private events. The "Kids, Drop in & Decorate!" class is a 1 hour after-school event for kids to learn basic decorating techniques. Each child will have six cupcakes to decorate and take home.

Kids cooking classes and family workshops at Farmhouse Academy are available for all ages and levels. The modern facility - often used for private events and cooking parties - includes a comfortable lounge, coffee bar, playroom, as well as a fully equipped kitchen.
