Murray Hill Pottery Works
Indulge in the squishy and messy that is pottery! Offerings include a family-friendly class where kids (and their grown-ups) can make their own bowl, plate, and cup set. Other workshop projects involve making lemonade cups, ice-cream bowls, and two-sided bowls with customized exteriors. A variety of classes are offered, with projects for ages 4 to adult!
Milwaukee Art Museum
The Milwaukee Art Museum offers a rotating selection of artists on display from painters to sculptors and more. For kids, they have the Kohl's Art Generation Open Studio. This is a drop-in art opportunity whenever the museum is open. Families can use various art materials and techniques to make art. Check their website for the monthly themes. There are other opportunities like Kohl's Art Generation Sundays which involves hands-on art projects and interactive performances select Sundays throughout the year.
Walker's Point Center for the Arts
Visit Walker's Point during weekly gallery hours to view and be inspired by the artists' creations. Then sign up for after school art classes (they're free!), attend family art days, or plan an art party for up to 25 children! Kids will love painting mosaics, canvases, and even stenciled t-shirts to take home.
Creative Fire
Creative Fire offers seasonal clay classes for kids 5 years and up, plus monthly memberships to encourage their ongoing clay working passion! Individual ceramic painting and pay-by-the-hour studio time are also available for older or more independent students. Creative Fire also hosts parties for kids and adults!
Arte Bar & Painting Lounge
Also a bar & lounge, kids and families are invited to come and paint during select times, workshops & classes.
La Terazza
This paint your own pottery studio is fun for all ages, from toddlers to adults, and offers a great selection of pieces to pick from. Walk-ins are welcome any time they are open with no reservation required. Simply pick your piece and colors and you will be provided with paint, brushes, firing, and personal instruction. An acrylic option allows you to take your works of art home the same day, but glazed items are picked up in a week. La Terazza offers parties for birthdays too.

Just Kiln' Time Paint Your Own Pottery
Choose from pre-made pottery you can paint, DIY clay sculpting, and even canvas painting packages that can be taken home the same day. Be aware that your custom clay creations will take about two weeks to finish firing and drying. Parents can join in on the fun, or connect to the complimentary Wi-Fi while in the studio.
Museum of Wisconsin Art
Drop in to the studio at MOWA on Saturdays to make art as a family. Each month, MOWA provides all of the materials necessary to make projects inspired by specific themes or objects on display in the galleries. Sometimes artists who are exhibiting their work in the museum even drop in to contribute to a session.
