Where to Take Your Kids Ice Skating in Boston

Tracy Snyder Molina:  Head out to the Worcester Common Oval for ice skating with music, concession stand, restrooms and skate rentals.

Tracy Snyder Molina:  For a more relaxed setting, head to Featherland Park with some friends or family and enjoy some winter exercise. There are no set hours, the area is lit from 4pm-11pm and skating is at your own risk.

The rink is designed specifically for recreational skating and features an observation deck for non-skaters. On-site skate rentals, concessions and bathrooms are available and parking is free.

Tracy Snyder Molina:   This urban outdoor skating rink located right in the center of Jamaica Plain has a great family and neighborhood atmosphere. Skate to the songs of Motown and soul and then grab a cup of hot chocolate at a nearby café for a great family outing.

Tracy Snyder Molina:  Skate @ Canal District Kendall is a seasonal outdoor ice skating rink which offers skate rentals, lessons, private rink rentals, and a cafe serving hot drinks and snacks. The rink is zamboni maintained and located in a landscaped courtyard just off 3rd Street.

Tracy Snyder Molina:   The seasonal ice rink on Stoneham Town Common typically opens in January (weather permitting). Check the Facebook page for updates on operating dates. Bring your own skates.

Tracy Snyder Molina:  In the winter, the Boston Common Frog Pond is transformed into an ice skating rink. The rink is open to the public with an admission fee and offers skate rentals, skating aids for children learning to skate, skate sharpening, lockers and skate lessons. Snacks and hot cocoa available at the cafe. Delays or closings will be announced on the Frog Pond Facebook Page.

If weather permits, after ice skating, head to Boston Common's Flagstaff Hill for sledding and snow tubing fun!
