Where to Take Your Kids Ice Skating in Columbus
Here's a list of the outdoor ice skating rinks in Columbus that local families love! You can use our interactive map to find the one closest to you. When you get home you can warm up with hot chocolate and holiday cookies! Verify open skate hours before you head out; ice skating outside will always be temperature dependent.
Blendon Woods Metro Park
Katie G.: Blendon Woods Metro Park is a 653-acre park known for its wildlife, particularly bird watching. In the wintertime, there is a man made 0.4-acre skating pond, 18 to 24 inches deep.
Coffman Park
Katie G.: The City of Dublin will once again offer a free ice skating rink at Coffman Park. Ice skating rental is not available and skaters are not allowed to play hockey at the park. The rink will be open weather permitting when temperatures are below freezing for several days in a row. Check the website for openings.
Glen Oak Park
Katie G.: The ice skating pond at Glen Oak Park is drained in the winter time to only 24" deep, allowing a better chance for the water to freeze. The ice thickness is measured on a regular basis for safety. Please do not skate on the pond when the No Skating signs are posted.
Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park
Katie G.: Stretching along the Big and Little Darby Creeks in Galloway, OH, Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park has over 7,000 acres of lush landscaping for both summer and winter use. There is a 1/2 acre, 16" deep pond located at Battelle Darby Creek for use during the cold winter months. Skating pond is open to the public when the ice freezes at least 3 inches deep.
Marysville - Merry on Main Iceless Ice Skating
Katie G.: Get in the holiday spirit in historic Uptown Marysville with Merry on Main. This outdoor ice skating park is located at the Partners Park pavilion where guests can also enjoy activities at Santa's Village during the holiday season. The "iceless" rink is open to all. Skates are provided for free. The rink is 72' x 40' with perimeter fencing and outdoor heaters. Rink capacity is 75 skaters.
