Stephanie W.:  Tex-Mex is a Texas staple, and Taco Diner does it right! Owned by the same restaurant group as Mi Cocina, Taco Diner is a more casual restaurant with just as delicious food. Their queso blanco and brisket tacos are to die for, and they also have all day breakfast items like chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. Parents will love their signature drink, the Mambo Taxi- a mix of sangria and frozen margarita that is refreshing and delightful!

Their ridiculously affordable meals consist of hearty, Swedish-inspired dishes that are tasty, yet simple enough to please picky palates. Members of the free family loyalty program get free coffee and tea each time they go and kids eat free on Tuesdays!

Its Neapolitan style pizza has unique toppings like bacon marmalade, candied jalapenos and honey, and they are sure to have your kids screaming for more. The mozzarella and burrata cheeses are housemade, and the pizzas are all 14"- the perfect size to get a few and share around the table!

    The String Bean

Lisa R:  The String Bean dishes up authentic southern comfort food for brunch, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant is extremely kid friendly and even has a designated play area. Kids eat free on Monday nights and at other times with the purchase of an adult entrée. The hearty home-style dishes, varied menu, and bar are highly rated by adults with and without kids, although the numerous kid-friendly touches makes this a top destination for young families.

The Impossible Burger, made entirely without meat, is a great vegan option, as well as La Bandita, a veggie burger. You or your kids can even donate to a local charity by purchasing the Goodnight/Good Cause burger! Finish off a tasty meal with one of their yummy shakes (vanilla birthday cake is a fan favorite).

    Magic Time Machine

With costumed characters and unique dining areas, The Magic Time Machine will take you back in time as you enjoying a tasty meal! Servers dress in costumes that represent different pop culture icons from the past and present. The Tee-Pee, Lunchbox, a Dunce-cap and a Carousel complete with horses, are among the most popular dining spots within the restaurant, plus the salad bar, which is a modified red 1952 MG-TD Roadster! Delicious steaks, prime ribs, and fresh seafood are served, along with a great kids menu. This is a family-friendly restaurant experience your kids won't soon forget!

    Cafe 43 (Bush Presidential Center)

    Pin

    Lunch & Weekend Brunch

Lisa R:  This little café inside the Bush Presidential Center is open for brunch and lunch and doesn't require that you visit the museum in order to enter, although it pairs perfectly with a museum visit, suitable for elementary aged kids and older.

Menu items include Bush family favorites and regional dishes with complex flavors and locally sourced ingredients. The café is decorated with original art by President George W. Bush and has an upscale ambiance, but is noteworthy for its welcoming atmosphere and beautiful surroundings.

With all the multiple rotating food trucks, such as BBQ, dumplings, tacos, etc., you could visit multiple nights a week with the whole family and never get bored. Oh, and if the kids make a mess, you're outside, so you won't even feel bad about it.

    Yolk - One Arts Plaza

    Pin

     (1074.1 mi)

christadiserio:  Where do I even start? Yolk has some absolutely delicious food at an unbeatable price for everyone. Kids will enjoy Oreo pancakes, S'mores pancakes, or a Big Kid Breakfast (a little bit of everything). They're not just limited to breakfast items - lunch is available on the kid's menu too. Adults will love the unlimited menu items, like crepes, pancakes, scrambles, Croque Madame, and more. Oh, and just like the kid's menu, they offer lunch items, such as tuna melts, BLT's, salads and other scrumptious items. Yolk also has a louder environment, so you won't feel bad if your kids act up!
