Best Place to Buy Kids Clothes Online (Parent Reviews!)

These are the best places to buy children's clothes online, according to regular parents who try to avoid in-store shopping every time their kids hit another growth spurt!

We parents have more options than ever for buying kids clothes online, so it can sometimes feel overwhelming to try and figure out which retailers are really worth trying.

Help other families out by leaving a review of any online retailers you've used below, and share any tips you might have about regular sales or discounts, favorite items (or those to avoid), and any other nuggets of wisdom you've picked up along the way!

    The Children's Place

Alexandra F.:  If I'm ever looking for a particular item of clothing for one of my little kids, I'll usually find it at The Children's Place. T-shirts with a favorite character, outfits in a particular color - the selection is so expansive that it's just easier to look here first. They also have really great deals almost all the time, and I've found the quality to be solid, too. If you shop here often, they have a good rewards program that allows you to earn additional discounts throughout the year.

    Target

Alexandra F.:  Not only is it fun to wander around Target in person, but their app makes it so easy to buy almost anything you need online, too. The Cat & Jack line is always a solid and affordable option for buying kids clothing online or in store, and I love that they even sell school uniforms. With our Target card, we get free shipping and a 5% discount every time we shop at our favorite store, and the drive up option makes it so convenient to quickly swing by when we don't have time to wait for shipping, or to go into the store.

    Primary

Alexandra F.:  Primary has become one of my regular places to buy kids clothes online. The quality is great, the prices totally reasonable, and they have pretty much all the basics I need for my younger kids. Their joggers are my absolute favorite bottoms for my active boys, as they are super soft and comfortable, yet somehow also durable and nice-looking; definitely the best joggers I've tried from among several brands. It's also my favorite place to get socks, and a few basic tees. The pjs are pretty good, too, though not quite Hanna Andersson good.

ChattyFeet socks for kids, babies and toddlers are extremely cute, comfy and encourage creativity. Kids love wearing these socks and interacting with cheeky novelty characters like Frida Callus, Professor Brian Sox and Kate Middle-Toe - they also sell super-cute matching family sets. The socks are inspired by artists, musicians, scientists, royals and more - they’re a great way to bring a playful touch into the day. Plus they sell a wide range of funky socks for men and women too.

    Patagonia

Lisa R:  I am a big fan of Patagonia's commitment to the environment and how the thought they put into how their products are made. Their kids' line is my go to for coats and outdoor gear, but they also carry a small selection of basics, like t-shirts and sundresses. I've ordered from their "worn wear" section several times and the condition of the items I received always met or exceeded my expectations.

    Hanna Andersson

Alexandra F.:  Hanna Andersson probably has the softest, highest-quality pajamas around, so it's another retailer I use regularly to buy my kids' clothes online. Since they can be quite pricey, I usually look for them on clearance, or keep an eye out for super sales throughout the year. Fortunately, the site is really easy to use, with filters to help you find exactly what you are looking for - including the cheapest pajamas available in your size! Their kids underwear is also the best, and their potty training underwear the softest and thickest we found. Our luck hasn't been as good with the t-shirts, unfortunately, which tend to stretch out quite a bit, especially around the neck.

    Costco

Kelly R:  We get a lot of kids clothes at Costco...especially boys activewear and socks. Though it's easy enough to grab them in the warehouse, I usually check their website a couple times a year when I need to stock up for the next season. The selection is often better, and they periodically run promotions online where you save when buying a certain number of clothing items. Plus, there are reviews so you have a better idea of the sizing and quality.

    Stitch Fix

Kelly R:  We use Stitch Fix to buy kids clothes online for my tween daughter. It's a service that sends you a box of stylist-chosen mix-and-match pieces for your kid to try on at home, and you send back anything you don't want. I love that I get to specify our preferences (price, modesty, types of pieces needed), and my daughter can dress in clothes that she likes without me trying to have to piece everything together at multiple stores and figure out what's stylish.

    Kohls

Alexandra F.:  As my big kids get older, Kohl's has been a convenient go-to for basics like underwear, athletic clothing, and simple shirts and bottoms. They also have some cute (and affordable!) dresses, print tees, and other fun options for kids who want to express their personality a bit more. Add on regular discounts and clearance sales, a generous rewards program, and convenient pick up and shipping options, and it has quickly become one of our family's primary sources for buying kids' clothing online.

    Carter's

Sue Krawitz Tandoc:  I've always found quality merchandise and great deals at Carter's. They offer a wide range of sizes from baby to adult, including family matching outfits. Many of their clothing items are all cotton which I love, especially their super soft pajamas. They also have great sales and doorbusters to stretch your dollar, along with free shipping options.
