Best Mommy and Me Classes Around Philadelphia

Toddler Time at the Barn Nature Center is a parent and child class that is designed to be a fun and educational experience for tots as they are introduced to the exciting world of animals and nature. Toddler Time includes animal encounters, story time, music, crafts, movement activities, and snacks. This is a popular program, so advance registration is recommended! Classes take place on on Tuesdays and Fridays during the school year! Summer days and times may vary.

Miss Pam, creator of the first podcast for babies, invites families to register for her 6-week series of toddler classes, or to just drop in, on Mondays at two separate locations. Storyplays features books, songs, finger-plays, puppets, movement, live music, sign language and more.

Shila:  This is a bright indoor playground with age-appropriate toys, slides, climbers, a cafe serving a variety of healthy snackables (most only for one, two or three dollars!), enrichment classes and more. Check the schedule for open Pop-n-Play.

Classes are held in Art, Music, and Movement, all of which are broken into developmental age groups. These fun, 45 min classes occur on weekdays and weekends. And, unlimited Pop-n-Play is included with all enrollment!

Shila:  The Academy of Natural Sciences is a leading natural history museum and a kid-friendly favorite Philly museum. Signature exhibits include a Butterfly Garden, Outside In Discovery Center, and an impressive Dinosaur Hall.

Paleo Playdates is a preschool party for budding scientists! Each week there will be new stories, hands-on activities, crafts, exploration time, and a weekly special guest.

Erin P.:  Engage Art Studio offers Mom (or any parent or caregiver!) & Me class for kids and their grown ups. Kids can experiment with a wide variety of materials - clay, paint, collaging, and mixed materials, while their parent oversees, and maybe even jumps in on the fun! They will make a different project in each class.

Erin P.:  Arden Theatre offers a great parent and me class for tots, called Bookworms. In this class, they will read a book together and use theatre games, music and dance to act out the story. Kiddos will love this opportunity to bring some of their favorite characters to life! All classes are held at the Hamilton Family Arts Center. Classes run in eight-week sessions. Payment is per class, not per session, so you can choose to come to all eight classes or sign up just for those that fit your schedule and budget.

Sue Krawitz Tandoc:  Experience a mind and body connection on a date with your child during Storytelling Yoga with Cerca Trova Yoga at Sugars Bridge Farm. During the 45-minute session, you and your child will explore stories, games, art and music as you develop flexibility, strength and coordination in a calming and relaxing environment. The session will be rewarding for both parent and child as you focus on creativity, imagination, play and exercise.

Sue Krawitz Tandoc:  Bond with your child on musical play dates where the two of you will explore singing, dancing and playing instruments through hands-on interactive play to engage you and your little one. Experienced teachers will lead you on this musical journey with other parents and children for a roomful of fun, learning and laughter! They offer classes in many different areas so check the closest one to you!

Spanish Exploradores offer Spanish classes for babies and children focused on movement, activities and lots of fun. They have Parent and Child classes as well as classes for older kids to learn Spanish vocabulary and phrases, speaking and writing, songs, games, crafts, cultural activities and more.

Sue Krawitz Tandoc:  Art in the Pod features Mommy, Daddy and Me Art Class in 10-week sessions throughout the year. You and your child will learn, create and explore together famous artists and styles while using a variety of art materials. Each week has a unique theme which is taught with stories, music and various art activities. Children will hone fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination while creating art masterpieces that you will cherish and display in your home. Check their current schedule for dates and times. Classes are one hour.

Erin P.:  Bond with your baby, build your strength, tighten your core and meet other moms in Mommy & Baby Yogalates. These classes focus on recovery from pregnancy and birth, devoting extra attention to the shoulders, back, chest and other muscles most affected by carrying and breastfeeding babies. The Pilates component will strengthen your core using classical exercises modified to incorporate your little one.
