Here is a list of outdoor ice skating rinks around Phoenix - though, most are typically open seasonally and around the holidays.
Winter Wonderland at Schnepf Farms
Katie G.: Head over to Schnepf Farms during the month of December for a Winter Wonderland in the desert. The farm has a 3,400 square foot ice skating rink that is surrounded by hay bales and hundreds of musical lights. Enjoy skating specials such as 2-for-1 skating, date night skate and discounted admission on select days of the week. While at the farm, don't forget to take a hayride to feed the deer, snow sledding, bonfires, hot chocolate, games and more.

Winter Wonderland Ice Rink at City Plaza
Katie G.: Enjoy holiday fun in downtown Mesa with the Merry Main Street event. Families can enjoy ice skating at the Winter Wonderland Ice Rink in City Plaza. The 4,000 square foot ice rink can hold up to 125 guests at one time. Skate sessions are booked in one-hour increments and available on a first, come, first served basis. Enjoy skate specials throughout the week such as Family Night, Two-fer-Tuesdays, Ugly Sweater Wednesday and Student Night on Thursdays. Be sure to check out the holiday lights, Santa's Selfie Village and more before or after you skate.

Desert Ice Skating Rink at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess
Katie G.: The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess hotel offers a winter wonderland for locals and guests during the holidays. The 6,000 square foot Desert Ice Skating rink is made of real ice with plenty of room to skate and enjoy the beauty of the desert at night. You won't want to miss the rinkside "snowfall", which takes place each night. Enjoy the 4.5 million LED light display around the resort, express train rides, visits with Santa, fireside smores and more for an additional fee.

CitySkate Holiday Ice Rink
Katie G.: CitySkate is the Phoenix areas premier outdoor ice skating rink. Located in downtown Phoenix, the ice skating rink is centered around the giant city Christmas Tree during the holiday season. On the weekends (and on Wednesdays during their Skate it Forward events) you can find skaters of all ages at the rink. Skates are available and included in admission. Warm up with a hot chocolate or visit with Santa during select days and times. Underground parking is conveniently located at CityScape Phoenix adjacent to the rink.
Cost: $15/person ($5 off for seniors, military and children under 8)
Skate Westgate
Katie G.: Westgate Entertainment District, located in Glendale, has a 3,500 square foot ice rink open during the winter months. The rink, made of real ice, is located in Fountain Park next to the giant Christmas tree. Choose an open skate time that works for your family and then enjoy other seasonal activities such as nightly snowfalls, visit with Santa, horse-drawn carriage rides, shopping and plenty of dining options.
