Check the map to find parent-recommended teen activities near you around Los Angeles and Orange County, and add your own ideas and reviews to the list!
To continue the fun with your teenager at home, try some favorite teen crafts, podcasts or tv shows together.
GLO Mini Golf
Erynn: Mini golf may be tolerably retro, but the addition of an arcade, virtual reality equipment, and an ice cream bar make this the place to be for littles up through teens. Plus, the XBox gaming room rounds out the location's offerings with a suite-experience for kids and their friends. Of course, GLO golf can be plenty fun when your teens bring friends or the whole family along.
Cost: Attraction pricing starts at $7/hour for Xbox play, plus fees for golf, 3D glasses, and the virtual reality station
iFLY Indoor Skydiving
Kids enjoy the exhilaration, parents enjoy the safety features and trained flight instructors! iFLY is an indoor flight experience for all ages and experience levels.
Pole Position Raceway
Erynn: Kids will have a blast all year at this indoor raceway, where special go karts for kids accommodate drivers 48" and up. Adult-sized karts fit kids 56" and taller and can reach speeds of 45mph. Arrive-and-drive racing is the most popular option, and kids can drop in with friends for a quick and exhilarating race.
Ages: 6+ and at least 48 inches tall
Cost: For "arrive-and-drive", kids' races start at $16.95 for non-members; adult races $19.95
Ziplines At Pacific Crest
Five tour options let you choose the length and activities that are right for your family and your kiddo, with the shortest, Quest Tour, starting at 1.5 hours long. Participants have four or more opportunities to ride the zip line, viewing wildlife and the landscape from high above the ground. You can even reach speeds of up to 55mph!
Exit Game OC
The Exit Game promises big excitement for teens, with a comedy horror escape room game that will require teamwork to solve.
Boomers! Irvine
While younger kids will enjoy the King Arthur's Carnival, older (and taller) participants can play mini golf, ride go karts, spin in bumper boats, climb a rock wall, ride the Sidewinder or Flame Thrower, play lazer tag, or swing in the batting cages. Then, check out the game room and grab a bite to eat at the grill. The seasonal Buccaneer Cove offers water play for all ages, too, with exhilarating water slides and spray features.
Angel Stadium Ballpark Tours
Kelly R: Experience areas that are normally closed to the public with a kid friendly behind-the-scenes tour of Angel Stadium! The tour route for this 75-minute experience varies, and can include a trip to the dugout, onto the field, a look at the visitors clubhouse, the broadcasting booth, and more.
Cost: $8/adult, $6/child (age 3-14)
Hollywood Sports Paintball & Airsoft Park
Hollywood Sports has paintball, but they also offer Paintball Soft, which is lower impact than regular paintball for younger players. Standard paintball stings a little, but older teens might be up for the challenge!
LA Boulders
Erynn: Kids are welcome at LA Boulders, but parents must supervise kids 14 and under. With the option of day passes, punch cards, and monthly memberships, the whole family can get their climb on in this expansive indoor climbing facility. Over 14,000 square feet of bouldering terrain (and 175 boulder problems) will challenge all ages.
Cost: Pricing starts at $20/day for kids 12 and under; $25 for ages 12+; equipment rental is extra
The Museum of Contemporary Art Teen Program
Erynn: A fantastic way for teens to get hands-on with art, MOCA's program is more than just a get-together with likeminded artists. High school juniors and seniors are invited to learn more about the museum and pad their likely short resumes with this academic year-long program. Not only do positions pay teens for their contributions, but they spend time each week (and some weekends) working with museum professionals, investigating current exhibitions, making art, planning Teen Night, and more.
Escape Room LA
Erynn: The escape room experience is exhilarating fun for teens, their friends, and parents! Anyone 16 and under must have a guardian in the room, too, so keep that in mind when planning any outing other than a birthday party. Through team building and critical thinking, you'll solve puzzles and escape the room!
Ages: 12+, kid-friendly versions available at select times for ages 9-13
Cost: starts at $32/person on weekdays
Family Amusement Corporation
Erynn: Now this is the type of "old-school" today's tweens and teens won't mind spending some time with! A range of both modern and throwback games are available for families to enjoy, or you can let the kids loose with some cash for a fun time on their own. There are pinball machines, dance games, basketball, air hockey tables, pool tables, and more to enjoy.
Cost: Pricing varies per game, so bring cash for the best experience.
Go Kart World
Erynn: Go Kart World has six different tracks for all-ages racing, so kids as small as 32" tall can ride with an adult. Kids who are at least 43" tall can ride the Bumper Car Track on their own, 45" is tall enough for the Mini Indy, and a 52" minimum is required for the Super & Slick Track (half-speed). Anyone 56" and up can ride the Slick Track at full speed, but the Turbo and Super tracks have 58" and 60" minimums, respectively.
Cost: From $6 for one ride to $50 for an all-day wristband
The Groundlings
Groundlings Intern: The Groundlings have several Spring Break classes and camps. Kids can enjoy improv training regardless of their experience level. More information on our website. Please check it out! We think a lot of young adults will love the workshops.
Los Angeles County Museum of Art Teen Programs
Erynn: LACMA's offerings for teens range from free youth memberships (ages 17 and under) that allow teens to visit anytime (13 and up can go on their own!) to special teen nights that occur after-hours. There are also art classes specifically for teens, and those 16 and older can usually participate in adult classes, too. Free workshops at local libraries can also engage your teen's passion for art.
Cost: Varies from free to $225 for week-long art workshops
