    Homemade Vanilla Extract

Sarah C.:  You need to get a headstart on this as it needs time to sit, but it is a super cute and practical gift anyone will use and love.

    Gingerbread Sugar Scrub Cubes

Shila:  These rich and moisturizing sugar scrubs are made by filling a silicone baking mold with a blend of soap base, almond oil, and gingerbread cookie-scented ingredients like brown sugar, ginger, cinnamon, and ground cloves. These are inexpensive DIY Christmas gifts kids can make for teachers, friends, etc!

    Salt Dough Ornaments

Shila:  Salt dough is one of those easy DIY homemade craft recipes where parents and kids can spend an afternoon of fun creating and enjoying sensory play made from scratch. Use this ornament recipe that only requires table salt, all-purpose flour, water, and cookie cutters to form solid, long-lasting Christmas gifts kids can make for loved ones.

    Reindeer Hot Cocoa Bags

Sarah C.:  These are adorable and easy to make! Every kid loves hot cocoa and it is so festive.

    Root Beer Reindeer

Shila:  Purchase a 6-pack of root beer (or beer if the recipient is over 21) and decorate each bottle as a reindeer using pom poms for the nose and brown pipe cleaners for antlers! These can be easy DIY Christmas gifts from kids. All ages can participate in the fun of decorating and gluing on the craft parts.

    Paperwhite Narcissus Bulbs

Pat Rupiper:  I would like to suggest Paperwhite Narcissus bulbs and a small planter vase. Add some moss and rocks or soil. Package up a sense of hope for the darker winter months.

M&M Cookie Mix in a Jar

Shila:  You can bake your own edible gift using a number of awesome Christmas cookie recipes - or consider gifting a pre-made mix in a mason jar! These are delicious and personalized Christmas gifts kids can make by measuring out the dry ingredients and hand-writing a recipe label. My family's favorite is this M&M cookie mix! Soft, chewy, chocolatey, and always a crowd pleaser.

    Christmas Chocolate Spoons

Shila:  These chocolate spoons are a fun indoor activity, and inexpensive holiday gifts kids can make in bulk to hand out to friends and classmates. All you need are plastic or wooden spoons, melted chocolate, and an assortment of colorful toppings like sprinkles, chocolate chips, crushed peppermint, etc. The chocolate spoons are intended to be stirred into a mug of hot cocoa or warm milk!

    Spiced Christmas Coffee Mix

Shila:  Skip the Starbucks gift card this year and have the kids create their own coffee-themed homemade Christmas gifts to hand out, packaged in cute mason jars. Make a blend of instant coffee and powdered milk, and then flavor it with any additional holiday ingredients you choose. This recipe adds cinnamon and nutmeg, but you could also try ground cardamom, pumpkin spice, crushed peppermint candy, mocha, etc.

    Hot Chocolate Bombs

Shila:  Hot chocolate bombs are trending thanks to the deliciously-addictive videos on social media, and luckily they are fun holiday gifts kids can make with some help! Using a semi-circle silicone baking mold, paint a thin layer of melted chocolate and then cool. Two semi-circles will join together to create one sphere, after they are filled with cocoa powder and mini marshmallows. Drop these chocolate balls into a mug of steaming hot milk and enjoy one of the coolest homemade hot chocolate recipes!

    DIY Cinnamon Stick Candles

Shila:  Consider DIY candles as homemade Christmas gift ideas this year. Using non-scented candles along with whole cinnamon sticks, these are easy and low-cost Christmas gifts kids can make. Simply attach cinnamon sticks to the outer perimeter of the candle. When lit, the heat will warm up the cinnamon's spicy scent.

    Christmas Vase

Kristy Pepping:  My daughter's school always has the kids make DIY Christmas gifts for parents and last year they made holiday vases. This craft is super simple and all you need is a few items like tissue paper, Mod Podge, scissors, craft glue and some finishing spray. Once their projects are complete, you can present the vases as is, fill with candy or even drop a small candle inside.

    Tile Photo Coasters

Kristy Pepping:  This was a project my daughter made in school, but they could easily be Christmas gifts kids can make at home. Plus, it's a great chance to showcase some of the recent photos you have taken. You just need small ceramic tiles, personal photos, Mod Podge and acrylic sealer.

    DIY Holiday Wreath

Alexandra F.:  Handmade wreaths are such special holiday gifts kids can make with help, and will be cherished year after year at Christmas time! There are plenty of tutorials on the web if you are going for a particular look, but all you really need is a wreath form and whatever creative supplies you want to use to decorate it. It’s pretty easy to wrap festive ribbons around the form, then add a few personal touches like pinecones, buttons, or any shatterproof ornaments you and your child choose, using your handy glue gun or tacky glue to bring it all together.

    Melting Snowman Bark

Shila:  Melt white chocolate and apply a few decorations to make it appear as though a snowman has melted! These desserts take a bit of attention to detail, which is why the end results make very loving and thoughtful homemade gifts for Christmas. Individually wrap these "Frosties" in cellophane to package. Kids will love to help decorate!
