Best Kids Bunk Beds (Parent Approved!)

It doesn't take much for a kid to fall in love with a bunk bed, but these beds get the coveted parent stamp of approval for their focus on smart design, function and safety!

These are great bunk beds for kids sharing a room, but also come in handy for sleepovers and family visits. And playroom favorites like slides and curtains make some of these a whole lot of fun, too! Note that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that kids be at least 6 years old before using the top bunk.

Donco Kids Deer Blind Bunk Bed

Kelly R:  These sturdy Brazilian pine kids bunk beds have cloth panels that provide nice private spaces for siblings who share a room, but can also rival their coolest indoor forts! The design is whimsical, but not so childish that it will be quickly outgrown. And since the bottom bunk sits low to the ground, it is a safe option for younger kids.

Dorel Living Clearwater Triple Bunk Bed

Kelly R:  This cleverly-designed triple bunk bed attaches the third bed as an L-shaped loft (with usable space underneath!) instead of stacking all 3 kids on top of one another with minimal headspace. The space under the loft is perfect for a dresser, desk or play area.

    Bellemave Wood Triple Bunk Bed

Kelly R:  These cool bunk beds are perfect for sleepovers or 3 siblings sharing a room! Two parallel twin beds give the set a traditional look and feel (there's even an integrated nightstand), and the third elevated bed is there when you need it.

Max & Lily Low Bunk Bed

Kelly R:  These small bunk beds for kids are quite low, making them a convenient choice for smaller rooms and younger kids. The shorter profile also means it's much easier to change the sheets on the top bunk! Consider adding on the optional removable slide or play curtain if you want your kids' room to double as a playroom.

Pottery Barn Kids Belden Stair Loft Bed

Kelly R:  Bunk beds with stairs are easier for kids to manage than a more traditional ladder design, so there's less worry about slipping. I love that this Pottery Barn Kids bunk bed has a full sized mattress on the bottom that provides plenty of space as kids grow, and drawers for extra clothing, bedding or toy storage solutions.

    IKEA Kura

Jaclyn Keifer:  This bunk bed is perfect for littles that need to share a room. We needed a good solution for our 5 and 2 year old children and love this bed! I’m 64" tall and can almost reach the back part of the top bunk. Plus, the price is unbeatable! Be sure to use wood glue and it’ll wear well.
