My niece who struggles to enjoy reading read this and was so proud of herself for reading and loving it. I had to read it after she raved about it and I'm so glad I did. What a great story.

I recently finished reading this. My 9yo and husband read it too. Trying to convince my 2nd grader to read it, but he's not on board yet. Such a great message to be learned by all from this book!

This is a family favorite in our house! Such a wonderful message! Can't wait to see the movie too!

I absolutely loved this book, and especially loved the conversations it opened up for me and my 9-year-old daughter to have about what it means to treat people with kindness and respect, why it's important, and why we can never make judgments about people despite what we think we know about them. I couldn't put it down, and neither could my daughter!

My kids read (and loved) this around 2nd and 4th grade, but I think it's a great one to revisit in middle school, too. It's a powerful book that teaches empathy, acceptance, and to look beyond outward appearances. My kids especially loved that it's told from the perspective of a variety of different characters.

Grab some tissues: this eye opening, heartwarming story is one of the must-read books for middle schoolers.
