27 Best 90s Movies to Revisit With Your Kids

Kelly R:  If your kids enjoy slapstick humor as much as mine do, this holiday movie is going to be a home run.

Sue Krawitz Tandoc:  My kids and I love The Sandlot! It's classic and wholesome with great characters, story and truly shows what life was like for kids before electronics took over.

Beth Wood:  This hilarious comedy stars Robin Williams as a father who wants to spend more time with his children after his divorce. In order to do so, he dresses up and takes on the persona of a British nanny and applies for a job with the family. Keeping up with the charade leads to many funny situations. Some adult themes and language are expressed so this is better suited as a movie for tweens and older.

Kelly R:  My kids love this movie, and I was surprised by how much of the dialogue I remembered! I guess that says something about how many times I saw it growing up. Because it's a different spin on the story of Peter Pan, the kids enjoyed trying to figure out how the characters in the movie match up with the classic story. It's silly, funny and full of heart, and we loved witnessing Peter rediscovering the joy of being a child.

Tim Ponisciak:  This classic from the 90s is a great movie for kids just getting started in sports, as it teaches the value in trying your hardest and never giving up on your dreams, even if you are not the most talented player on your team.

Kelly R:  Sports movies are a great way to help teach kids about the importance of teamwork and perseverance, and this one has John Candy!

Tim Ponisciak:  Have some dancers in your family? Newsies is one you should put on your movie night list! The soundtrack for this movie has many foot-tapping melodies. As an added bonus, mom and dad can see Christian Bale in one of his first movie roles!

Beth Wood:  Robin Williams stars in this action-packed family friendly movie about a board game that magically transports its players to the jungles of Jumanji. Players can also bring the jungle to them by opening and playing the board game. It's quite an adventure!

Erika Roh...:  Based on true events, A League of Their Own is a wonderful, family friendly movie about the first ever professional womens baseball league. Set in World War II era, when men were off at war, the baseball team owners were in need of keeping the game alive. They started scouting women from all over the country to create a new baseball league. When these women come together, it's a mixture of love, laughter, tears, sisterhood and baseball!

Tera Lee Culverwell:  This is a wonderful movie that the whole family will enjoy! We've watched this over and over! It will definitely keep the family interested.

Maria Castillo:  Young love! Forts! Club houses! Cart races! Need I say more?! Parents, you know you want to watch it again.

Kelly R:  A barnyard of talking animals teaches some important lessons about kindness and compassion as Babe the pig tries to make himself useful herding sheep to avoid his likely fate. One of the best family movies from the 90s to share with younger kids!

Tim Ponisciak:  Free Willy tells the tale of a boy looking for a friend and a captive whale. This is a great movie for any kids who need a little encouragement or motivation to break out of their shell. There are also many sequels to the movie if you have kids who love the sea.

Vanessa M.:  Bill Murray stars in this classic film that will have your whole family in stitches. When Dr. Leo Marvin wants to enjoy a relaxing vacation with his family, his lovable but troubled patient, Bob Wiley, follows him, wheedles his way into his family, and ultimately drives Dr. Marvin off the deep end!

Dawn Denning:  A team of Looney Tunes enlist the aid of Michael Jordan to play the ultimate game of basketball. Your kids will laugh and learn a lesson in hard work during this fun family movie.
