A bunch of blueberries planted 40 years ago by a young girl's parents has evolved in Halfway Acres Blueberry Farm. That young girl is now a mom of four girls of her own. Her family is working to restore and grow the farm for all to enjoy. Pick your own organic blueberries and enjoy your own picnic with the provided tables.

With more than 250 acres, Hallock's is a family-run farm offering u-pick fruit and vegetable options all seasons but winter. Depending on the season, your family can embark on the ultimate scavenger hunt for fresh produce. You'll discover an assortment of nearly everything available at pick your own: strawberries, peas, cabbage, beans, beets, swiss chard, tomatoes, pickles, cucumber, squash, onions, okra, peppers, eggplant, cilantro, basil, dill, spinach, broccoli, potatoes, pumpkins, rutabagas

and more.

Strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries are just some of the pick your own options at Alstede Farms. They offer u pick apples, pumpkins, peaches, and a huge variety of vegetables too. This farm hosts numerous family events and activities throughout the season where kids can enjoy pony rides, a bounce house, wagon train rides, and more. There's a popular petting zoo on site where your family can feed the animals. Pick your own admission to the farm includes some of these activities as well as credit applied to your purchase.

This 20-acre farm grows nine different varieties of strawberries. In addition to strawberries, Condzella's Farm grows blueberries, raspberries, peas, asparagus, pumpkins, sunflowers, tomatoes, and beans. These crops are available for purchase at their farm stand along with sunflowers. The farm opts for sustainable practices without the uses of synthetic insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and fertilizers.

Bhavana Blueberries is a certified organic blueberry farm that invites families to join in on the harvest during the peak season. Named after the Sanskrit concept "Bhavana," representing the cultivation of mind, body, and spirit, this farm strives to create a food community connecting the farm to the people. In addition to u pick blueberries, they also grow flowers, garlic, shallots, and culinary herbs, which are available at their farm stand. Families are welcome to picnic on the grounds free of charge or reserve a spot with amenities.

At Patty's Berries and Bunches, 24 varieties of berries are grown on the 40-acre farm. Pick strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, or sugar snap peas and more throughout the season. Post picking, stop by the farm's Ice Cream Patch for homemade ice cream, which is seasonally made from their crops.

Lewin farms is a family farm now in the fourth generation. They were the first pick-your-own farm on Long Island and are continuing that long tradition with a wide variety of u-pick fields throughout the spring summer and fall, and even into the winter. Some of the varieties of crops they grow include: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, peaches, pumpkins, Christmas trees and more!

More than a dozen trucks will be on-site in South Slope to wow kids at Touch-a-Truck. Kids can check out emergency vehicles, construction vehicles, vintage vehicles, and more. There's also bouncy houses, interactive art projects, and, of course, food trucks at this fundraising event benefitting P.S. 295.

At the Brooklyn Strategist, kids are given the opportunity to build, create, solve, and strategize by playing games. The day is divided into segments including Open Play and Creative Game Design.
